Summary:Dreamy and somewhat dizzy telephone operator Janie has a steady boyfriend, a real go-getter salesman named Tom, eagerly pursuing the American Dream. Then she gets--and accepts--three proposals of marriage in under a week! The first is from Tom, who lacks the romantic impulses Janie thinks she needs. The second is from millionaire playboy R.J. Hamilton, aka Dick, who inspires Cinderella fantasies of glamour and pageantry. But it's the third, from Harry, that causes the most trouble. Harry's an easy-going nonconformist auto mechanic with a romantic streak, snappy wit, and a kiss that inspires music. Can Janie find happiness with him? Full of both pin-up glamour and screwball comedy, especially in the cartoonish dream sequences, the film highlights Ginger Rogers' perfect combination of skepticism and daffiness.
